Welcome to The Learning Matters Partnership website, now a part of Stuart McCoy and Co Ltd.

We are a small consultancy company that works to support colleagues in the management and delivery of Skills for Life, provision for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, and preparation for life and work.

We specialise in support for curriculum and staff development in the areas of literacy, numeracy, ESOL, independent living skills, and entry to employment.

We have developed a pack of resources for teachers and teacher/trainers with DVDs that have film of teaching and learning. Click here to go to the DVD resources.

The materials were designed and produced by Stuart McCoy and Carol Tennyson who are former national lead inspectors in these areas or learning.

Stuart McCoy (MEd, BSc, Dip Ed) has worked since 2000 nationally as an independent education consultant in management, quality assurance and curriculum development across the further education sector. His main subject specialisms are in the preparation for life and work areas of learning. He was formerly a full-time inspector with the FEFC, the deputy principal of a college in Cumbria, the post-16 adviser with a Yorkshire LEA, and a development officer with the Government's Further Education Unit. He was an associate inspector with Ofsted and the ALI from 2000 until 2006 and has trained inspectors and led re-inspection teams.

Carol Tennyson (MEd, BA, Cert Ed) has worked since 2000 as an independent consultant in curriculum and staff development for many colleges and national organisations such as the LSC, AoC, QCA, Standards Unit, Natspec and Mencap. Prior to this she was a full-time inspector with the FEFC with particular responsibility for the inspection of provision for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. She participated in several national projects and led a three year national research project to develop a post-16 curriculum for students with physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties.
